Welcome to Menina Lisboa!
How to Start This Post?
I’d love to share the story behind this name. I’d love to tell you that this project has been in the works, dreamed of, for over a year. I’d love to share all the little details about this part of my work, but I don’t want to bore you. And if you’ve landed here today, you probably already know two things:
- I’m endlessly in love with Lisbon (which makes this name a perfect fit for the project!).
- I love drawing, mixing colors, and creating patterns!
When I launched Hello Twiggs in September 2012, it felt right to have all my projects under one brand. Twiggs has been my nickname since 2009, and those who know me, know me as Claudia, Twiggs, or Miss Twiggs. So one name felt enough to show the world what I was creating!
However, after an intense year of work, Hello Twiggs became undeniably associated with photography—capturing people and their stories—while design took a backseat. By the last quarter of 2013, it no longer made sense to blend two distinct areas in the same space. And as with all projects, the natural evolution of each led me to finally give each one its own home.
Hello Twiggs remains dedicated to my photography work, while Menina Lisboa will be my illustration brand. It’s where I’ll share new illustrations for my shop (especially focused on the local market), new products, graphic design projects, and any creative ideas that feel fun and inspiring to share!
I hope you enjoy this new space and feel happy here! There’s still a lot to add to the shop and portfolio, but one step at a time. Honestly, I couldn’t keep this news to myself any longer!
And by the way, I’ve got a brand-new Instagram page that could use a little love—so it needs your support!

Hi Claudia,
Happy New Year & good luck with Lisbon Girl!
As I was reading through*, a smile was getting bigger & bigger…
I like things organised and it’s great to see this separate place for what you love so much to do asides photography!
I said it before that I get encouraged and am admiring people like you, proceeding with their wishes & dreams.
So bravo to you!
I’m looking so very forward for the time to come that it all clears out on my end as well and such a nice, focused outcome as you developed here takes place.
I love the blog I have been having but I think my recent “loose” relation ship to it is s.c.r.e.a.m.i.n.g. that there is a HUGE need for changes!
… love the quote you have chosen, it for sure is a favorite :)
Iro , xo
* it is certainly a very good case of Google translate!

Hello my dear friend, how are you doing? Long time, no see!! Oh and I loved that you went through the trouble of translating this via Google, as I know how hard that can be! Thank you so much for your time! I can only you find the time and inspiration to make those changes to your blog! It has to be more like you, and evolving like your life has evolved these last years! xoxo!!!!
