Following her mom’s footsteps 📷 in all honest Following her mom’s footsteps 📷 in all honesty it’s also one of my favorite corners in the house, so I totally get her 😅 but to be fair, she was just doing what I was doing at the time.

I’m not sure about you, but whenever I clean and for example change the sheets and pillows on our bedroom, I always love to take a few photos too!

Have a nice week my friends!
Another one to add to the Kitchen Collection ✨ I Another one to add to the Kitchen Collection ✨ I have been working on this one for quite a while now. But i always felt that it wasn’t done, it wasn’t the way I felt it should... until I tweaked and tweaked and then it felt right.

Remember when I told you about city illustrations Remember when I told you about city illustrations that I had in mind? NEW YORK is here!
.
I have been in NY four times already, starting when I was 12... it was my dream city for years and years, I wanted to move there, I have been there in the summer (never again, thank you!), and for Christmas (so beautiful, but also too many people!). This year I wanted to go during fall (my dream season), but you know... pandemic and all and no traveling at all.
.
These are some of the things I believe are very New York, a lot of them are missing, but hey... it’s impossible to fit them all, right?

HAPPY NEW YEAR * There’s this belief that we nee HAPPY NEW YEAR * There’s this belief that we need to choose a word for each new year. After 2020 and so many personal struggles and self-awareness/knowledge, I choose not one, but four.

. Joy
. Kindness
. Love

HOPE is what I hold in my heart and mind, hope for a better year, for a better future... 2020 has been nothing but a wake up call, and I hope we listened.

JOY is what I want to be able to find everyday in the smallest things. I’m not sure if it’s an age/pandemic/motherhood thing, but I’ve been finding myself too upset/nervous about things much more than they deserve. I want to feel lighter and more joyful.

KINDNESS in random acts throughout the day, the smallest ones, but the ones that can make our heart feel warmer, knowing that we did good.

LOVE above all things. Love in terms of understanding, of listening, of forgiving and accepting. Love not only towards others, but also towards ourselves.
And your 2020 favorites were... drumrolls... oh an And your 2020 favorites were... drumrolls... oh and some of my favorites are also here ✨ THANK YOU for believing, trusting and supporting my work! It has been such a wonderful ride!

2020 has been rough in so many ways, but I’m grateful for this year, because among so many other things, it helped find my way to illustration and I’m loving it so much! I have a ton of new ideas for 2021 and I just hope for possibility to put them to work!
.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Still enjoying this holiday spirit ✨ it’s a ti Still enjoying this holiday spirit ✨ it’s a time to reflect what this year was and what we accomplished, embraced, endured and lost.

I was given the gift of time to dedicate myself to this passion that illustration has become. That was the most positive thing for me this year, to re-evaluate my career and where do I feel the happiest. I felt myself growing so much and I feel that I’m slowly finding my voice, even if that still comes with years of work, challenges and practice to come (as a wedding/family photographer for the past 9/10 years I know how it goes).
.
But I also lost my father, my sweet father with whom I would talk about almost anything, who I hugged and kissed like if I was still his 5 year-old baby girl... and even if I had been slowly losing him due to dementia in the past 15 years, say a final goodbye still hurt a lot. My biggest sorrow with no doubt is that my daughter will never have a memory of her grandpa and will never know how sweet and good he was, asides from what I will tell her.
.
I also feel that this year was a challenge for our little family. We were never at home together during lockdown, because David has a job in which he couldn’t be working from home. I struggled with finding time for myself alone, which as an introvert I desperately need, and to do something for myself. I struggled with finding a balance between what the three of us would do together as a family, what we would do for ourselves in our alone time, and finding time for the both of us as a couple. For myself, I found my way again to yoga and I’m so thankful for my practice.
.
I also turned 40. It was a bit hard I must confess, but calm and sweet at the same time. It rained, the fireplace was lit the whole day and we just spent the day at home. I thought a lot about what it meant to turn 40, what a new decade would bring, what I wanted to keep and what I wanted to leave behind. But I’m still figuring things out 😅
.
Take your time to find your place, but above all listen to your heart. I find myself not understanding what my heart is saying a lot of times or not being gentle with myself at all, but I keep trying and the light will eventually make its way to me.
