We bought a house.
We went back to our beloved Cascais to spend a few days at the beach with friends.
We explored the south of Spain in summer.
Laura started preschool at the same school Alice goes to.
We settled into new routines in a new neighbourhood and watched all the seasons come and go.

2025 felt like a year of settling.
Soft challenges. Quiet decisions.
A year that wasn’t loud, but felt intentional.

I turned 45 a few weeks ago, and it feels like the beginning of a new chapter.
One where I hope for a simpler life.
More routine.
More care for my health.
More space for myself.

Domingo passado foi dia de passeio com amigos que nos fizeram uma visita quase de surpresa no fim‑de‑semana!

E como quase sempre fazemos levamos os amigos a tapear no @tabernaelrincondejose64 e depois almoço no @elgran_cantabrico! Dizer que o “pulpo a la gallega” é bom é um understatement. Hoje pedimos as ostras e estavam só divinais. Que pedaço do mar! O vermú para acompanhar é obrigatório, tal como a tarta de queso! Tudo no bairro mais bonito - Barrio de las Letras ❤️

E não é que esta conta agora parece uma conta pessoal em vez de ser de ilustração? Já faz tanto tempo desde que partilhei trabalho 🤦🏻‍♀️

Mas isso não quer dizer que não ande a fazer nada… até ando quase todos os dias a fazer coisas.

Barbate, Cadiz.

Terra de atum apanhado com métodos tradicionais durante um período muito curto durante o ano. Praia fenomenal, ampla, com um mar com a temperatura ideal e onde sabe tão bem mergulhar para refrescar a temperatura do corpo.

Demos os nossos passeios, refugiámo-nos do calor em casa também, aproveitávamos as manhãs na praia, almoçávamos fora e depois íamos para casa. Uma vez ou outra voltávamos à praia já depois das 19h e que bem que sabia ficar até depois das 21h.

Mas enganam-se se pensam que isto está a ser uma tranquilidade, as nossas filhas de quase 7 e quase 3 fazem questão de nos pôr a pensar, várias vezes por dia, se pagar para levar birras a passear é mesmo boa ideia ✌🏻 isso e trazer mais cabelos brancos para casa.

E já sei que para o ano vamo-nos esquecer de tudo isto e vamos marcar mais férias.

Madrid me mola mucho! We went to meet up with some friends in Chamberí as there were local festivities and a foam party for the kids! And then we went for tapas and ice-cream (at @zuccaru_gelato so delicious!!!!) and that’s how we spent our Sunday!

It’s been almost a year and a half since we moved and I feel so grateful that we had this chance to move abroad and to come here! It’s been such an amazing experience for our family and this city totally fits our personality!

I can’t get enough of this baby… I know this account should be all about illustrations and other work I have been doing, and there’s always so much to share and sometimes little energy for it. But I have been feeling so thankful for this dog and I can’t stop myself from petting him just one more time, hugging and shoving my face in his fur. He doesn’t smell like dogs usually smell, he has a particular scent that I absolutely love and I want to remember it forever.

I adopted Kobe in February 2011 and it feels like a lifetime. He has lived in 9 houses with me, 4 different cities and 2 countries. He has been with me through happiness and heart break, pregnancies and motherhood, moving and adjusting, exploring and traveling.

Since he was just a puppy I remember thinking that he would be with me, if I was lucky, for about 16 years. We have reached 14 years and a half and so far so good. He has weaker legs, he is a bit deaf, goes on much shorter walks, and sleeps what feels like 20h/day. But I celebrate each day we get with him ❤️
