Good morning ✨ I’ve been meaning to draw a bird with a bit of Swedish folk inspiration for a while now... and this weekend I finally did it. It made me dream of traveling again!
.
My last trip to some place new was in November 2019 and I flew to Gothenburg for professional reasons. I had time to go for a few strolls on my own (as I absolutely LOVE) and I had a great time... and imagine going to Sweden near Christmas season 🤍 so I would love to go back, maybe to visit Stockholm this time. And then take a few days and fly to Copenhagen too, which I absolutely loved when I was there a few years ago. So much I even wanted to move 🇩🇰

Love Day is just around the corner 💛 and we all

Love Day is just around the corner 💛 and we all need some cozy and creative ways to celebrate it! With lockdown rules and in our case with a toddler, we forgot how it feels to go on a date just the two of us... at night.

We have had lunch dates which were great, but you know the carefree feeling of having a quick dinner (I always love some sushi or Mexican) and catch a movie? And get some popcorn on the way? So honestly this is one of the normal things I’m eager to do once all of this nightmare ends!

We’re back to rainbows... they are the hope afte

We’re back to rainbows... they are the hope after a storm and I can’t think of another perfect word for what we’re living - a never ending storm.

And the little home protected by the rainbow was actually inspired by a photo I took during December and which became one of my favorites for that month.

I have some new work to share, but this melted my

I have some new work to share, but this melted my heart yesterday morning ✨ this is Alice (almost 2,5yo) and Kobe (10yo). Now a bit of back story.

Kobe came to me when he was less than two MONTHS old. So we have a “bit” of history together. However he couldn’t care less when I was pregnant, I even felt a bit disappointed for the lack of acknowledgment on his end, but ok... then we brought Alice home, he sniffed her and ignored. Then she would cry and I could feel him rolling his eyes... because... too-much-noise! Then we tried to get her close to him and he didn’t like it. We decided to respect and wait for him to come to her.

Then she began to eat bread. And the rest is history.

They play, she teases him, he teases her. They share food, she kisses and hugs him, he puts his head on her lap to sleep... he loves her bed... and this here is a common view.

So, in case you needed something sweet today, here it is 💛

Following her mom’s footsteps 📷 in all honesty it’s also one of my favorite corners in the house, so I totally get her 😅 but to be fair, she was just doing what I was doing at the time.

I’m not sure about you, but whenever I clean and for example change the sheets and pillows on our bedroom, I always love to take a few photos too!

Another one to add to the Kitchen Collection ✨ I have been working on this one for quite a while now. But i always felt that it wasn’t done, it wasn’t the way I felt it should... until I tweaked and tweaked and then it felt right.

I have been in NY four times already, starting when I was 12... it was my dream city for years and years, I wanted to move there, I have been there in the summer (never again, thank you!), and for Christmas (so beautiful, but also too many people!). This year I wanted to go during fall (my dream season), but you know... pandemic and all and no traveling at all.

These are some of the things I believe are very New York, a lot of them are missing, but hey... it’s impossible to fit them all, right?

HAPPY NEW YEAR * There’s this belief that we need to choose a word for each new year. After 2020 and so many personal struggles and self-awareness/knowledge, I choose not one, but four.
. Hope
. Joy
. Kindness
. Love

HOPE is what I hold in my heart and mind, hope for a better year, for a better future... 2020 has been nothing but a wake up call, and I hope we listened.

JOY is what I want to be able to find everyday in the smallest things. I’m not sure if it’s an age/pandemic/motherhood thing, but I’ve been finding myself too upset/nervous about things much more than they deserve. I want to feel lighter and more joyful.

KINDNESS in random acts throughout the day, the smallest ones, but the ones that can make our heart feel warmer, knowing that we did good.

LOVE above all things. Love in terms of understanding, of listening, of forgiving and accepting. Love not only towards others, but also towards ourselves.

2020 has been rough in so many ways, but I’m grateful for this year, because among so many other things, it helped find my way to illustration and I’m loving it so much! I have a ton of new ideas for 2021 and I just hope for possibility to put them to work!
